Senses: Sharp long-distance vision, weak sense of smell. Highly alert to upright human silhouettes.

Behavior: Strictly diurnal (08:00–16:00) around burrow systems. Stays underground during rain, heavy fog, and high winds. When danger approaches, a sentry barks a warning call that sends the entire town underground.

Diet: Low grasses, roots, clover. Completely grazes down vegetation around mounds.

Population: Massive subterranean colonies with extremely rapid reproduction. Requires regular varmint control to protect Montana pastures from erosion.
